Choosing the Right Milk Volume:

When using the WPM MS-130T Milk Steamer, selecting the appropriate amount of milk is crucial for achieving optimal froth and preventing overflow during steaming. Here's a guideline to assist you:

  • Select an Appropriate Pitcher Size:

    • For a single small cup (6 to 8 ounces), use a 12-ounce (350 ml) milk pitcher.
    • For larger drinks or multiple servings, opt for a 20-ounce (600 ml) pitcher.
    • If using ceramic mugs directly, fill only to halfway.
  • Fill Level:

    • Fill the pitcher to about half its capacity. This allows sufficient space for milk expansion during steaming.

Why This Matters:

Filling the pitcher halfway ensures:

  • Adequate Expansion Room: Milk typically expands by 30-50% when steamed. Overfilling can lead to spillage, while underfilling may result in insufficient froth.

  • Optimal Froth Quality: Proper milk volume facilitates better control during steaming, leading to a creamier and more consistent microfoam.

Steaming Milk:

  1. Power On:

    • Switch on the main power button.
    • The display will show a preheating indicator.
  2. Set Target Temperature:

    • Use the Pre-set menu to choose a temperature (P1 or P2).
  3. Steam Milk:

    • Place the steam wand into your milk pitcher, approximately 1 cm below the surface. If using a mug, centre the wand in the middle of the mug.
    • Press the steam button to start.
    • The machine will automatically stop once the target temperature is reached.
